Current hiring status

We are not hiring right now.

When hiring reopens, our priority will be full-time applicants who speak Japanese—not people looking to work a single trip. If that describes you, read on and introduce yourself.

How our hiring program works

Our mission goes beyond hiring guides. We aim to create real employment and opportunity for neurodiverse young adults who may not thrive in a traditional 9-to-5 setting. Hiring priority is given to previous WanderRock travelers, which lets us get to know potential guides before offering employment.

Guides

Guides follow our carefully designed itineraries and help travelers navigate both the practical and emotional sides of travel. Guides receive First Aid, CPR, and conflict-resolution training.

Trip Leaders

Each itinerary has a leader responsible for keeping the trip running smoothly. This role requires extensive international travel, group leadership, sound judgment, and experience supporting neurodiverse people.

Support Staff

Our U.S.-based team manages applications, pre-trip interviews, traveler questions, coaching, logistics, and problems that cannot be solved on the ground.

Research & Development

The R&D team researches and tests new itineraries, explores destinations in person, and builds relationships with hotels, activity providers, guides, and local organizations.

The rhythm of the work

Trips can run from one to six weeks. Some seasons include multiple sessions with two-week breaks between them. Guides and trip leaders may be expected to lead several trips, with time between trips to rest and recharge.

Time off on trips

Outside travel days, each itinerary includes daily off time so staff can rest, explore independently, call home, answer email, or take care of personal needs.
